Where in the Wide World?

Biblical Archaeology Review’s 200th issue was almost thirty-five years in the making. Get your copy here.

In 1994, we started running a new department on the very last page of the magazine. WorldWide—as the name suggests—has been a place for us to look beyond our usual borders to explore the beautiful, mysterious and sometimes amusing artifacts that were produced by ancient cultures throughout the world during the Biblical period. For this special issue, we’ve collected some of our favorite WorldWides from the past 15 years. Can you match the correct (modern) country of origin from the lettered list at left with each numbered object below?

It would be helpful if a scale was added to see the size of these artifacts. Especially in the magazine it is impossible to know just how large the item is and thus have a better idea of just what it was and how it was possibly used.
